Riley Green Shares Why It Was Hard To “Comprehend” Being A Coach On “The Voice”
on

Season 30 of The Voice starts on September 21. The landmark season will feature two new coaches, Riley Green and Queen Latifah, and two returning champions, Adam Levine and Kelly Clarkson.
Green follows in the footsteps of several other country artists who’ve sat in one of the famous red coaches’ chairs in the past, including Blake Shelton, Reba McEntire, Kelsea Ballerini, and Dan + Shay.

With the season premiere fast-approaching, Green and his fellow coaches sat down to reflect on the moment they learned they’d be working on Season 30. Keeping it real, Green shared his initial reaction to becoming a coach:
“When it became a conversation that I might potentially be able to be a coach on the show, it’s kind of hard for me to comprehend.”
He joked about why that was such a challenge for him to process, saying, “Because y’all all seem really famous to me.”
Kelly Clarkson chimed in, expressing how she thinks Green is “super famous.” He explained what he meant, saying it was hard for him to imagine being on the show with his three co-stars, since he’s been listening to their music and watching them for so long.
But now, Green has settled into his role on the show, and he’s seen how well they work together as a group.
“It’s crazy that this is all kind of coming together now, I don’t know that I could have picked a better group,” he said, before cracking another joke. “Like it’s nice to have people that know what they’re doing, and then we’ve got two that don’t.”

Riley Green Has Already Signed On For Another Season Of The Voice
Although Season 30 hasn’t even premiered yet, The Voice is already making plans for Season 31. It will be unlike any other season before it, as the contestants will all be famous celebrities, rather than unknown artists.
That’s not the only change coming to Season 31. Longtime host Carson Daly is taking a break from the show, making way for a new host, Keke Palmer, to fill the role.
Additionally, the season will only feature three coaches instead of the typical four. Those coaches will be Queen Latifah, Riley Green, and a brand-new coach, Joe Jonas.
Jonas’ brother and bandmate, Nick Jonas, previously served as a coach on The Voice for two seasons.
Season 31 is expected to premiere in early 2027, although an exact date has not been announced. Stay tuned for more information on it and Season 30.
