‘The Voice’ Just Pulled Off Its Biggest Elimination in Show History As 16 Hopefuls Are Cut
on

With just one week left until the live episodes of The Voice Season 30, the show delivered the biggest elimination in its history.
The field of 28 hopefuls was cut to 12 during The Voice‘s first-ever CutWeek.
Each coach went into the week with 7 contestants. The coaches picked two from their team to advance directly to the live shows based on past performances. The remaining five team members sang once again in hopes of showing their coach that they deserved the final spot on their team.
After each coach chose three singers to take to the live rounds, America was given the opportunity to advance one of the eliminated hopefuls, meaning that one coach would have four contestants in the next round of competition.
The episode started with Queen Latifah choosing Big Country, an Army veteran who wowed with a cover of “I Put A Spell On You” during his Blind Audition, and 16-year-old Mia Knight, who earned a spot on Queen’s team when the coach used her “First In” button, to go to the live rounds. After the remainder of her team performed, Queen chose Lillie Kolich to round out her team.
Team Adam was next, with coach Adam Levine choosing 4-chair turn Lexi Stephens and wedding singer Connor Closs to advance. After the rest of his team competed for the final spot, Adam chose Dakota Cohen.
Riley Green had a tough decision to make as his team was mostly comprised of country artists. He opted to move forward with Cade Mower and sister duo, Ferryn & Brinkley. Joe Henley earned the final spot on Team Riley with his incredible cover of Keith Whitley’s “Don’t Close Your Eyes.”
