“Better than I was, more than I am, and all of this happened by takin’ your hand. And who I am now is who I wanted to be. And now that we’re together, I’m stronger than ever, I’m happy and free.”

30 years ago, on Oct. 6, 1996, two of the biggest names in country music became one when Tim McGraw and Faith Hill tied the knot.

All these years later, they’re still beloved in the country music scene, and they’re still in love with each other.

Celebrating this special anniversary, Tim McGraw shared a sweet letter and a montage video showing some highlights of their relationship together.

It’s been three decades since two 29-year-old country artists at the top of their game said, “I do.”

Now, 30 years later, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill continue to share in life and love, having raised three children (Gracie, Maggie, and Audrey), recorded several hit duets, and even co-starred together in the Taylor Sheridan miniseries 1883.

Kicking the anniversary day off, Tim shared a special post shortly after midnight on Oct. 6.

In this post, which included a video set to Tim’s 1999 song “My Best Friend,” Tim wrote about his relationship with Faith over the years, reflecting on 30 years of marriage.

“That day, October 6, 1996, under an old locust tree(I think) in my Aunt’s backyard in Rayville, Louisiana, I stood there and watched my future walk towards me with the sweetest man I’ve ever known, her father Ted,” wrote Tim.

Continuing, he wrote:

“In front of our closest family and friends, I was bound to the most beautiful soul. A lady that was glowing in my eyes, expanding my heart, and giving me all the love she had. I was and still am bewildered by her capacity to love, forgive, nurture and be full of joy and laughter.”

Powerfully, he added, “She is a gift to the world for sure, however, for us, we get Her, all of her. And I (and my girls) know who is ours, completely.”

Near the end of the post, he described Faith as “the center of gravity” in his life and that of their daughters.

Poetically, he then wrote:

“I love you baby
You are my best friend
My lover
My wife
My shelter in any and every storm
And the sunrise afterwards
Many more sunrises and sunsets
Many more beautiful memories to come
I am a fortunate man.”

In 2024, Faith deactivated her social media accounts, so we’re not likely to find out how she reacted to this post, but their 24-year-old daughter, Audrey, commented with an “Awwww,” adding, “Love y’all so much.”

Other notable reaction comments came from some big names in country music.

Among the responses was a comment by Rita Wilson, who wrote, “Happy Anniversary!!!!!! love you both!!!!”

Singer-songwriter Morgane Stapleton, who is the wife of Chris Stapleton, wrote, “Happy anniversary!!! I adore y’all!!!”

Karen Fairchild, of Little Big Town, wrote, “Happy Anniversary!!!!”
