On Thursday, Feb. 14, a celebratory parade was held in the Chiefs’ hometown to commemorate their Super Bowl championship victory.

This win was particularly meaningful for the Chiefs as it marked their third Super Bowl triumph in just five years.

Before the parade kicked off, the whole city was pumped up. Schools even closed for the day so everyone could join in the fun.

As the parade rolled through the streets, they were packed with fans, all hoping to catch a glimpse of their favorite players. Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce waved enthusiastically from on top of double-decker buses, adding to the excitement.

But it wasn’t just about celebrating a win; it was a time for the entire community to come together and share in the happiness.

After the parade, the Chiefs took to the stage to thank their fans.

Chiefs coach Andy Reid then spoke up, sharing how proud he was of his team. Having coached the Chiefs for over seven years, he talked passionately about their journey and all they’ve accomplished.

Then Mahomes got a turn to talk. “Wow, what a year!” he said, thanking the fans for sticking with them. “I just want to thank everybody here because, Chiefs Kingdom, you’re the reason that we do what we do.”

And the fun didn’t stop there. The team spontaneously put on a performance of Garth Brooks’ 1990 classic, “Friends In Low Places,” keeping the celebration going.

Kelce, grabbed the microphone, clearly in high spirits. With noticeable slurring, he encouraged the crowd, saying, “If you know this song, sing along!”

He humorously tweaked the lyrics of the song to reflect the epic showdown between the Chiefs and the 49ers on game day.

Kelce kicked off his karaoke session by singing, “Blame it all on my roots, I showed up in boots, and ruined the Niners affair.”

With his phone in hand, Kelce kept singing, swaying to the beat as he read the lyrics.

In the middle of the fun, Kelce joked around and said a line was actually about his teammate Patrick Mahomes, making everyone laugh.

“Took that glass of champagne…Pat took that glass of champagne, I promise you.”

Even though Kelce messed up a few times, he kept going, trying to get through the song. Then Mahomes jumped in to help him out.

Their fun got cut short when the parade organizers signaled it was time to wrap up, but Kelce still wanted to sing. Everyone kept laughing, and eventually, Mahomes took over to end the silly karaoke session, leaving everyone in stitches.
