Scott Minkley, Who Worked For Travis Tritt For Years, Dies Following Battle With Cancer

Travis Tritt is mourning the loss of his “right hand man,” Scott Minkley. Tritt shared the sad news on Wednesday (October 11) that Minkley passed away following a battle with cancer.

Minkley served as Tritt’s tour manager, production manager, and motion engineer for nearly 20 years. As Tritt wrote on Instagram:

It is with tremendous sadness when I say that I lost one of the most incredible people that has ever worked for me today. My tour manager, production manager and monitor engineer, Scott Minkley lost his battle with cancer this morning. Scott was my right hand man for almost 20 years.”

Travis Says Scott Minkley Was “One In A Million”

Tritt praised Minkley as a dedicated worker he could always count on:

“His acumen, knowledge and dedication to his job will forever be unsurpassed. He was one in a million and I’ll never find another like him.”

But Minkley was far more than an employee to Tritt. He was also an incredible friend:

“In addition to being an outstanding employee, Scott was a dear friend to me, my family and almost everyone he came in contact with. This is a tremendous loss that will hurt deeply for a very long time,” Tritt said.

Tritt said he was “blessed to have known” Minkley and have him on his crew. He ended his post by saying:

May he rest in the arms of Jesus until I see him again in heaven. My deepest condolences go out to his family and friends. In remembrance of Scott, please do something special and good for someone today.”

Tritt shared a slideshow containing photos of Minkley through the years. Many of the pictures show Minkley with Tritt and his family, proving how much he meant to them all. See those photos and Tritt’s tribute below.
