Rob Cole Delivers Smooth-As-Honey Rendition Of Billy Currington’s “Must Be Doin’ Somethin’ Right” On The Voice
Rob Cole auditioned for Season 25 of The Voice with a cover of “Must Be Doin’ Somethin’ Right” by Billy Currington. The song gave him the chance to showcase his smooth-as-honey voice, but was it enough to get him a chair turn?
Billy Currington released “Must Be Doin’ Somethin’ Right” in May 2005. The sultry song reached the #1 spot on the Hot Country Songs chart and also crossed over to claim the 39th spot on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100 chart.
“Must Be Doin’ Somethin’ Right” has since been certified 3x Platinum by the RIAA. The song’s accompanying music video won the CMT Music Award for Hottest Video of the Year in 2006.
Did Any Of The Voice Coaches Turn Their Chairs For Rob Cole’s Audition?
Rob Cole delivered a rich and engaging cover of Billy Currington’s hit song on The Voice. But sadly, none of the coaches turned their chairs for his performance.
As they took turns speaking, the coaches made it clear that they loved Cole’s voice, and thought he was incredibly talented.
John Legend praised Cole, but let him know he was “looking for something really specific” for his team.
Chance the Rapper also complimented the singer, telling him, “what I really loved was your tone.”

Reba McEntire told Cole that she already had three male country singers on her team by then. So she was looking for something a little different.
“…but you’re wonderful,” she said. “I love you tone, your range, everything about what you did in that song was great.”
Dan + Shay offered similar praise. They said they were a bit “indecisive” about whether they should turn their chair or not. Dan Smyers concluded they “should’ve hit the button” for Cole.
