ACM Awards Reveal New Duo/Group Of The Year Winner Prior To Ceremony

The 59th ceremony of the Academy of Country Music Awards is sure to deliver on its promise of an evening brimming with talent and celebration!

The esteemed occasion will unfold at the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas, on May 16, hosted by the one and only Reba McEntire. The most prestigious awards will be presented during the live broadcast, and numerous additional honors will be awarded in behind-the-scenes ceremonies.

This evening (May 14), the Academy of Country Music (ACM) revealed three award recipients at the ACM New Artist Winners Celebration, broadcast live from The Star in Frisco.

Among the many eagerly awaited categories, the New Duo/Group of the Year surfaced with noteworthy nominees, each bringing a unique sound and energy to the competitive country music landscape. To be eligible for this prestigious accolade, an artist must have released a single that ascended into the Top 40 of Billboard’s Hot Country Songs or the Mediabase Country charts.

The Academy of Country Music Awards’ New Duo/Group of the Year award has evolved in name over the years.

It transitioned from the Top New Vocal Group or Duet (1990-2008) to the New Vocal Duo or Group of the Year (2016-2019) and is now known simply as the New Duo/Group of the Year.

The most recent award for New Duo/Group of the Year was presented to Lanco in 2019 when the accolade was referred to as the New Vocal Duo or Group of the Year.

Neon Union

Tigirlily Gold

Natives of North Dakota, the sister duo Kendra and Krista Slaubaugh, better known as Tigirlily Gold, have quickly made a name for themselves with their original songs and captivating covers. Their nomination follows a series of successful appearances and releases, including their involvement in tribute performances and their visible presence on social media platforms. The duo’s dedication and talent have not only garnered them a significant fanbase but also placed them as frontrunners in the race for the New Duo/Group of the Year award.
