First introduced when Gwen Stefani became a coach on The Voice, the pop singer, and country star, Blake Shelton hit it off right away – and their bond only grew stronger in the years to come.

In an interview with People Magazine for their feature with him named as the Sexiest Man Alive, Shelton explained the deep-rooted bond he and Gwen share in a moment that will positively melt your heart!

“When we found out what each other were going through, this instant bond that we created – unspoken and it’s still there – of like this unified front,” Shelton told the publication. “That’s what’s most important to Gwen, somebody who has her back and is a best friend. That’s kind of how it started and it kept snowballing and snowballing into what it is now. It feels like it gets stronger all the time.”

The pair have been dating for more than four years and each exited some painful marriages while both working on set at The Voice. It was this moment that helped them build a strong relationship and understand one another on a very deep level.
