Michael Buble is gearing up to release Higher, his first album in three years. While filming the music video for the album’s lead single, Buble recruited his wife of more than 10 years to recreate some of the most iconic romantic scenes in film history.

The song, “I’ll Never Not Love You,” was written by Buble as a follow-up to his 2009 hit “Haven’t Met You Yet” that was written when he was dating Luisana Lopalito who became his wife in 2011. Buble was joined by Lopalito for his “Haven’t Met You Yet” video that has since garnered more than 152 million views on YouTube.

15 years after meeting his wife and 13 years after they first appeared on screen together, the couple teamed up once again for the video for “I’ll Never Not Love You.” This time, the video concept was inspired by some of the singer’s favorite films. Together, Michael and Luisiana recreated 11 different romantic movie scenes, including a memorable kiss from “The Notebook.”

“This was one of the greatest songs I’d ever been part of writing, and it deserved this really ambitious, beautiful video concept,” Buble told PEOPLE. “I thought it would be really cool to be able to travel through those scenes with the love of my real life, my wife, who just happens to be a great actress and happens to be really beautiful and wonderful.”

The video for “I’ll Never Not Love You” took three days of “intense” filming, but Buble had no regrets.

“I think the longest I had ever taken to film a music video before this was 16 hours,” he says. “People probably thought I was a bit crazy when I came to them with this idea, but as they started to see the footage, I think they realized how great it was. For the first time in my life, on the last day of a video shoot, I wished it didn’t have to end. We had way too much fun.”
