Kelsea Ballerini and Atlanta Braves’ first baseman Freddie Freeman took the stage to hand out the trophy. Freeman took a moment to congratulate Ballerini on her two wins earlier in the day for Music Video of the Year and Vocal Event of the Year for “Half of My Hometown.” Ballerini returned the favor by congratulating Freeman on the Braves’ recent World Series win. They then announced the winner of the coveted Male Vocalist of the Year award.

And the winner of the 2021 Male Vocalist of the Year is…..Chris Stapleton!

This is the fifth Male Vocalist of the Year win for Chris Stapleton, who took home four awards Wednesday night. An emotional Stapleton accepted the award that he dedicated to his kids.

“Amazing. All the guys in this category…a lot of them took me on the road,” Stapleton said as he struggled for words. “I don’t know what to say. I’m running out of words. What an amazing night. How great to see all of your faces.”

Congratulations to Chris Stapleton on a well-deserved Male Vocalist of the Year win!
