Drone Tank Makes Debut – Could Be Army’s First Ever Robo-Tank

It’s no surprise that the United States Army uses the most cutting-edge machinery and technology to protect our freedom, but the latest piece of equipment unveiled could be a game-changer.
The Ripsaw M5 is a tank similar to the Ripsaw MS2.

The difference is that the newly-unveiled Ripsaw M5 has a remote-controlled drone, compared to a manned tank in the Ripsaw MS2.

According to War History Online, the R80D Skyraider drone “can reach and airspeed of 31 miles per hour, carry up to 4.4 pounds, and stay in the air for up to 50 minutes.”
The drone also has optical and infrared cameras.
The Ripsaw M5 was debuted at the 2019 Association of the United States Army exposition in Washington D.C. over the October 14th weekend.
