Who Plays Dwight White In “Dutton Ranch”? Here’s Why You May Recognize Him

Dutton Ranch has introduced a pretty large cast throughout its first season, and several of the actors have left viewers asking, “Where have I seen this person before?”
The new Yellowstone spinoff premiered on Paramount+ on May 15 and has already broken records. It became the platform’s most-watched series premiere with 12.9 million viewers tuning in.
If you’ve been watching, you know that a few familiar faces from the original Yellowstone have made their way into Dutton Ranch.
The show mainly follows fan favorites Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly) and Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser) as they trade Montana for a new life in Texas. Another returning character is Carter, played by Finn Little.
There’s also been a long list of new actors introduced in the western drama. Over the eight episodes that have aired so far, viewers have met supporting characters Beulah Jackson (Annette Bening), Everett McKinney (Ed Harris), Oreana Jackson (Natalie Alyn Lind), Dwight White (Ray McKinnon) and more.

Even though Dwight only appeared in two episodes, a lot of fans couldn’t shake the feeling that they’d seen him before. And chances are, they have.
The actor who plays Dwight has appeared in many popular movies and TV shows over the years.

Who Is Ray McKinnon?
Ray McKinnon’s entertainment career began nearly four decades ago when he landed a small role in Driving Miss Daisy. From there, he went on to make brief appearances in other films, including Livin’ Large! and A Perfect World.
In 1995, McKinnon landed the role of Jerry Bostick, a flight dynamics officer, in the Academy Award-winning film Apollo 13.
Some of McKinnon’s other notable movie roles include playing Vernon T. Waldrip in O Brother, Where Art Thou? (2000) and Coach Cotton in The Blind Side (2009).
You also probably know some of McKinnon’s television work. He had a recurring role as Reverend H.W. Smith on Deadwood before portraying U.S. Attorney Lincoln Potter in Season 4 of Sons of Anarchy. He later reprised that character in the spinoff series Mayans M.C. for another five years.
