Marc Menchaca has built an impressive acting résumé over the years. Here’s everything to know about Marc Menchaca, including where you may recognize the actor from before Dutton Ranch.
He plays born-again Christian Zachariah Moss, who worked at the Edwards Ranch, which was the ranch before Rip and Beth purchased the property. He worked alongside Azul and his father.
In Dutton Ranch, Rip picked Zachariah up after he was released from prison, where he served 15 years for the death of his girlfriend.
His character is extremely loyal to Azul, Beth, and Rip.
Before Dutton Ranch, Menchaca was an accomplished actor whose career spans nearly two decades.
He began his career in 2001 with appearances in many different television shows including Arrest & Trial, Beyond the Prairie: The True Story of Laura Ingalls Wilder, Guiding Light, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, and a couple CSI shows.
His first multi-episode role was on Generation Kill in 2008 when he appeared in seven episodes as Gunnery Sergeant Mike “Gunny” Wynn.
He is somewhat of a journeyman of television with credits on the following shows: Inside Amy Schumer, Sleepy Hollow, Chicago P.D., Blue Bloods, Elementary, The Son, Person Of Interest, and many more.
His most known role came in 2017 when he was cast in the hit Netflix series Ozark, where he played Russ Langmore, the uncle of main character Ruth Langmore, and father to Wyatt and Three. Russ famously struggled with his homosexuality during his multi-season character arc. His character met an untimely death in Season 1, but returned in later episodes as a figment of his son’s imagination as he is dealing with the death of his father.
Menchaca has also acted in many movies including The Alamo, Last Day Of Summer, This Is Where We Live, She’s Lost Control, Ace the Case, Where Is Kyra?, Weightless, Smartass, Every Time I Die, The Evening Hour, Alone, Playing God, Sick, The Creator, Companion, and Dead of Winter.
His other notable TV roles include Black Mirror, Manifest, Beacon 23, and Dexter: Resurrection.
In fact, Dexter: Resurrection is where he worked with his wife, Lena Heady, on-screen for the first time.
He will also appear in the upcoming movie Unabomber, which just released its first look as former child star Jacob Tremblay as the young Ted Kaczynski, who becomes known worldwide as the Unabomber.
