Jai Courtney Made An Impression As Rob-Will On “Dutton Ranch,” But Where Have You Seen Him Before?

The Yellowstone spin-off Dutton Ranch ushered in the return of Cole Hauser, Kelly Reilly, and Finn Little as Rip Wheeler, Beth Dutton, and Carter. But the show also introduced a bunch of new cast members and characters, including Jai Courtney.
Before we continue, there will be some spoilers for Season 1 of Dutton Ranch below. So please, only continue if you’ve seen every episode already or if you’re fine with some major plot points being revealed.
Courtney played Rob-Will Jackson on Dutton Ranch, the son of 10 Petal matriarch Beulah and the father of Oreana. Rob-Will is a ruthless and troublesome figure who enters rehab midway through the season, only to return in Episode 7.
Beulah had planned to name his brother, Joaquin, as the heir of the 10 Petal Ranch. But Rob-Will comes home unexpectedly and demands that he be named the heir instead, threatening to kill Joaquin if he is not.
Beulah bends to Rob-Will’s order and shocks everyone by naming him as her successor. Although Rob-Will’s reign didn’t last for long, he was shot and killed in the Season 1 finale, presumably by Joaquin.
However, Juan Pablo Raba, the actor who plays Joaquin, has his doubts that Joaquin was the person behind Rob-Will’s death. After all, we never actually see Joaquin commit the crime.
Jai Courtney made an instant impression as Rob-Will on Dutton Ranch. There’s a chance he may look familiar to you, and that’s because he starred in a number of notable projects before landing his role in the Yellowstone spin-off.
A Rundown Of Jai Courtney’s Career Before He Starred On Dutton Ranch
Jai Courtney was born in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, on March 15, 1986. That’s right, although he played Texas native Rob-Will on Dutton Ranch, Courtney is not American!

Courtney started acting in the 2000s, landing small roles on TV series such as All Saints and Stacked to the Rafters. Later, he enjoyed multi-episode runs on shows such as Spartacus: Blood and Sand, Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later, Stateless, and The Terminal List.
Courtney appeared in his first film, Stone Bros., in 2009. More movies followed, with Courtney acting in Divergent, Jack Reacher, A Good Day to Die Hard, Felony, Terminator Genisys, and I, Frankenstein, among other projects.
He experienced a breakthrough moment in 2016 when he portrayed George “Digger” Harkness, AKA Captain Boomerang, in Suicide Squad. He reprised his role in the film’s sequel, which premiered in 2021.
After playing Captain Boomerang, Courtney went on to star in several other movies, including The Exception, Alita: Battle Angel, Honest Thief, and Dangerous Animals. He also played Virgil Cutter in the Western-themed miniseries American Primeval.
Courtney’s IMDb page currently lists five upcoming projects on his resume. Those are Beef, Blood on the Promontory, Callback, Protecting Jared, and The Very Best People.
