Good Or Bad? Warren Zeiders’ National Anthem Performance Under Fire
on Dec 02, 2023
Country artist Warren Zeiders stepped up to sing the national anthem Saturday, December 2nd, in advance of the Big 12 Championship game between Texas and Oklahoma State University today. The national anthem is often a tall order for any artist to take on and is notably one of the most nerve-racking songs for an artist to sing. One slip and you will be lambasted via social media and in the news –sometimes forever.
Most Americans prefer the anthem be sung in a way that is true to the tempo and notes they know and love from Francis Scott-Key. However, many artists end up wanting to put their own unique spin and style of singing on it which is incredibly risky. Social media and keyboard warriors had strong reactions to Zeider’s performance.
Social Media Reacted Immediately To Warren’s Performance With Some Enjoying It and Some Hating It
I’d rather cut off my ears than listen to Warren Zeiders sing the national anthem again

Hey @WarrenZeiders. I’m someone who likes your music and roots for your career so keep that in mind. Please just do the National Anthem less slow/growl/styling. Respect the song/ country and troops. Marine Corps Band can do it in 1:15. Just do it modestly in 1:30 pls.

Don't know anything about Warren Zeiders, but I now know he doesn't need to be doing any national anthems again. Ear-bleeding bad!!

With all the good musicians in the Big 12 foot print they run that clown Warren Zeiders out to sing the anthem before kickoff. Why?

Yo @WarrenZeiders why sing the worst National Anthem ever? You hate this country or something? Terrible
