Hank Williams Jr. postponed two of his concerts, scheduled for July 17th and July 18th, "out of an abundance of caution" over poor air quality.

Those who were looking forward to seeing Hank Williams Jr. in concert this weekend will have to wait a little longer.

The Country Music Hall of Famer suddenly announced on Friday (July 17th) that two of his shows have been postponed. The affected shows were supposed to be held on Friday, July 17th, and Saturday, July 18th at the Pine Knob Music Theatre and the Acrisure Amphitheater.

Both venues are located in Michigan (in Clarkston and Grand Rapids, respectively). Michigan is currently one of the states affected by poor air quality caused by Canadian wildfires.

As of 1:15 PM local time, Clarkston’s air quality index rating (or AQI) was 349. This is considered to be a “hazardous” level, with The Weather Channel stating, “everyone may experience more serious health effects.”

Grand Rapids had an AQI rating of 422 around the same time, which is also considered “hazardous.”

Because the venues Hank Jr. was supposed to play are are both outdoors, he postponed his shows “out of an abundance of caution.” The shows were rescheduled for Thursday, August 13th (Pine Knob), and Friday, August 14th (Acrisure).

All previously purchased tickets will be honored at the new dates. Read Hank Jr.’s statement about the postponements below.

Hank Williams Jr. Has Several More Shows On The Books In 2026

Hank Williams Jr. has a slight break in his schedule now before he’ll hit the road again. Hopefully, that will allow plenty of time for the air quality to improve before he returns to the stage on July 31 at the BankNH Pavilion in Gilford, New Hampshire.

Hank, who just celebrated his 77th birthday on May 26th, has several other tour dates on the books this year. He’ll sing in Bangor, Maine, on August 1st before finally appearing in Michigan for his rescheduled tour dates on August 13th and 14th.

He has four performances scheduled in September, with this year’s tour concluding at the Morton Amphitheater in Kansas City, Missouri, on September 19th.

Hank will have some supporting acts with him on some of the dates, including Sammy Kershaw, Mary Kutter, Joe Nichols, Mark Wills, Dalton Davis, Colton Dawson and American Idol runner-up John Foster.

Sammy Kershaw and Mary Kutter were the two acts who were supposed to be with Hank in Michigan on July 17th and 18th. It remains unclear if they’ll still be able to accompany him for the rescheduled shows.
