Mia Matthews Advances Into The Top 10 On American Idol
Country singer Mia Matthews delivered a stunning performance of Miranda Lambert’s “Over You” on Monday night’s (April 22) episode of American Idol.
The greater public first met Mia on a different show…The Voice.
Mia, her mother Tara, and her sister Jacy competed on The Voice in 2020 as the trio Worth the Wait. They joined Blake Shelton’s team and made it to the Top 17 before they were eliminated.
Both Mia and Jacy auditioned for the current season of American Idol. Mia performed “No Place That Far” by Sara Evans, while Jacy sang Kris Kristofferson’s “Help Me Make It Through the Night.”

The sisters received Golden Tickets to Hollywood. Jacy was sadly eliminated during Hollywood Week, but Mia advanced.
Mia has continued to excel on Idol. On April 22, she was revealed to be a member of the Top 10.
Viewers Respond After Mia Matthews Sings “Over You” By Miranda Lambert
Mia shared a cover of Miranda Lambert’s emotional song, “Over You,” during the same episode. Her beautifully chilling performance earned a lot of praise from Idol fans.

The Idol judges also praised Mia’s performance. Luke Bryan said, “A big part of this thing is to look like a dadgum star. And everything you’re doing right now is like star power stuff.”
Lionel Richie further complimented the young singer, telling her, “You’ve grown so much and you’re taking control of your life, your career and more important your artistry. … I love what you’re doing.”
