India And United States Trade Relations Have Changed

On February 13, India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi posted on X to express his excitement after meeting with President Donald Trump.

The two leaders met on Thursday to discuss the relationship between India and the United States. During their conversation, Trump agreed to continue selling U.S. military equipment to India, including F-35 jets.

It was also confirmed that the U.S. approved the extradition of Tahawwur Rana, who is accused of being involved in the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks. Rana, a Chicago businessman, will be returning to India alongside planes filled with alleged illegal aliens from America. The Prime Minister agreed to accept these planes going forward.

Donald Trump And Prime Minister Modi Discuss Trade Between The United States And India

During the trade negotiations, Trump pointed out that India has some of the highest trade tariffs in the world, calling this a “big problem.”

Trump has threatened to increase tariffs globally, especially on countries like China. To address this, Modi agreed to reduce the tariffs imposed on U.S. goods.

The U.S. is one of India’s largest export markets. High tariffs could negatively impact India’s economy.

In addition to the trade deal, India agreed to purchase a substantial amount of oil and gas from the United States.

These developments were the main highlights that prompted the Indian Prime Minister to post on X.

“President Trump often talks about MAGA. In India, we are working towards a Viksit Bharat, which in American context translates into MIGA. And together, the India-USA have a MEGA partnership for prosperity!”

Clearly, he is excited about the continued cooperation between the two countries.

He hopes for a partnership that will lead to mutual “prosperity.”

Trump Pokes Fun At Biden During Meeting With Narendra Modi

During their meeting, they took questions from the public.

One question was:

“I was curious, how much more confident are you with President Trump leading this country that there will be peace through strength and you will have a successful partnership with the United States versus with Biden’s incompetence and weakness over the last four years?”

Now, the question is leading and clearly biased, but it made Trump laugh.

While he was waiting for Modi to get his translation through the earpiece, he answered.

“That’s your question, but I’ll answer it. I agree with you. Gross incompetence. We’re going to have a fantastic relationship. And it has been, look, the whole world’s been set back over the last four years by the weakness of the United States, the weak leadership of the United States. But I think we’ve taken care of it in just three weeks.”
