Ivanka Trump Named Target In Foiled Iran-Linked Assassination Plot
on May 23, 2026

As Operation Epic Fury in Iran heads toward the three-month mark, and following the third major assassination attempt against President Donald Trump, reports of an Iranian-backed plot to assassinate President Trump’s eldest daughter, Ivanka, have surfaced.
In a May 22 report by the New York Post, Ivanka, 44, was the target of a plot by an alleged terrorist who was reportedly trained by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of Iran.
Mohammad Baqer Saad Dawood Al-Saadi, 32, made a “pledge,” according to the Post, to kill Ivanka Trump.
Al-Saadi reportedly even had a blueprint of Ivanka’s home in Florida.
Details About The Plot To Kill Ivanka Trump
According to the Department of Justice, which announced the arrest of Al-Saadi on May 15, Al-Saadi “worked closely” with Qasem Soleimani, the IRGC commander who was killed in a U.S. airstrike in 2020.
Al-Saadi’s other close affiliate was the leader of Kata’ib Hezbollah, Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, who was killed in the same drone strike that eliminated Soleimani.
The DOJ notes that Al-Saadi cited the late Soleimani and al-Muhandis as his “martyred leaders,” and that Al-Saadi frequently called on others to kill Americans as revenge for their deaths.
See the FBI’s post on Al-Saadi’s arrest, here:
Earlier today, Mohammad Baqer Saad Dawood Al-Saadi, a senior member of Kata’ib Hizballah, a U.S. designated foreign terrorist organization, was charged with six counts of terrorism-related offenses for his activities as an operative of Kata’ib Hizballah and Iran’s Islamic… pic.twitter.com/A3oDgpAswu

In a statement given to the New York Post, Entifadh Qanbar, a former deputy military attaché in the Iraqi embassy in Washington, said, “After [Soleimani] was killed, [Al-Saadi] went around telling people ‘we need to kill Ivanka to burn down the house of Trump the way he burned down our house.'”
Qanbar then recalled, “We heard that he had a plan of Ivanka’s house in Florida.”
In a social media post made on X, Al-Saadi showed on a map the location of Ivanka Trump’s home in Indian Creek, Florida, writing, as translated into English, “I say to the Americans look at this picture and know that neither your palaces nor the Secret Service will protect you. We are currently in the stage of surveillance and analysis. I told you, our revenge is a matter of time.”
For alleged crimes not directly related to this reported plot, the DOJ has charged Al-Saadi with:
- Conspiring to provide material support to Kata’ib Hizballah, a foreign terrorist organization, which carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison;
- Conspiring to provide material support to the IRGC, a foreign terrorist organization, which carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison;
- Conspiring to provide material support for acts of terrorism of attempting and conspiring to murder nationals of the United States, and bombing and conspiring to bomb a place of public use, which carries a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison;
- Providing material support for acts of terrorism, which carries a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison;
- Conspiring to bomb a place of public use, which carries a maximum penalty of life in prison; and
- Attempted destruction of property by means of fire or explosive, which carries a mandatory minimum term of five years in prison and a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison.
The third charge, involving alleged plans to “provide material support for acts of terrorism and conspiring to murder nationals of the United States” could broadly include the plot against Ivanka.
The New York Post notes that the White House has not responded to its request for comment.
Notably, Ivanka’s husband, Jared Kushner, has been routinely involved in the Trump administration’s brokering of peace deals between Arab nations and Israel.
What’s Next For The Trump Administration?
The Department of Justice announced the arrest of Al-Saadi on May 15, so the Post‘s report comes one week after his arrest.
However, it does come as President Trump’s family has many significant events going on, including the May 23 wedding of Donald Trump Jr. and Bettina Anderson in the Bahamas.
Citing tensions with Iran during an Oval Office exchange with reporters, President Trump had hinted at not being able to attend his son’s wedding on May 21.

Trump: He’d like me to go. I’m going to try. I said, this is not good timing for me. I have a thing called Iran and other things. He’s a person I’ve known for a long time. pic.twitter.com/lGdjvU7oD0
By May 22, that decision was solidified in a Truth Social post by President Trump.
Yesterday, May 22, President Donald Trump was seen returning to the White House after almost leaving for plans in New Jersey over the weekend.
Reports out of the White House indicate that Trump had a conference call with many leaders of nations in the Middle East on Saturday.
This is a developing story.
