Duck Dynasty Stars Jase And Missy Robertson Update Followers After Daughter Mia Undergoes Another Surgery

Jase and Missy Robertson‘s daughter, Mia, was born with a bilateral cleft lip and palate. She underwent her first surgery when she was only three months old.

Many more operations followed. In 2022, Mia underwent what she hoped would be her last surgery ever.

Unfortunately, Mia experienced a setback. Missy explained the situation in a post she shared on Instagram on June 28. She said Mia went in for a “minor surgery,” but it “turned into a more serious set-back in her cleft lip/palate journey.”

How Did Mia Robertson’s Latest Surgery Go?

Mia underwent her latest surgery on Monday (August 21). Prior to the operation, Missy said:

“Tomorrow @miarobertson1 will have surgery #15. It is major. She’s had this surgery twice before, and because of some unseen complications from the last one, it has to be done again. Please pray for it to be successful, for the skilled hands of Dr Law and for that oh-so-important anesthesia cocktail that will make or break her immediate recovery.”

Missy kept her followers updated after Mia’s surgery was complete. She said the doctor told them everything went “perfectly.”

Mia unfortunately had to postpone her plans to return to Lipscomb University. Thankfully, she’s able to take online classes while she recovers.

“This unexpected surgery forced Mia to make different plans. We were praying this surgery would be scheduled in time for her to heal before going back to college and were disappointed when we were given the date. However, we are GRATEFUL that Lipscomb helped her transfer to online classes to stay up-to-date through her recovery process… @miarobertson1 is still a part of her Lipscomb community. It’s just going to look a bit different for a few weeks. Sometimes, what looks like a personal disappointment may just be one way God has chosen to use you to further His Kingdom,” Missy said.

Mia’s Father Jase Robertson Shares Additional Update After Her Surgery

Mia’s dad, Jase, also shared an update on her condition. He said the doctor seemed optimistic about how the surgery went:

“Surgery done,” Jase wrote. “We met with doctor and he feels really good about it. The new hardware ‘is way more stable’ and should alleviate a lot of the pain she was experiencing and obviously more functional, so now recovery begins. She’ll be in ICU at least for tonight and then just take things day by day…“
