Jason Aldean Performs “Love In The First Degree” In Honor of Alabama

During the special, Jason Aldean took the stage to sing Alabama’s hit song “Love In The First Degree.”

“Love in the First Degree” by Alabama, released in 1981 as part of their album Feels So Right, is a classic country hit that topped the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart. Written by Jim Hurt and Tim DuBois, the song describes a love so intense that it feels like a passionate crime. It marked the band’s fifth consecutive No. 1 single.

About Alabama’s Legacy

Alabama’s success dates back to 1969 when the band was first formed. Known for their ability to blend traditional country music with Southern rock, bluegrass, folk, and pop, they achieved significant crossover appeal. Their major breakthrough came in the 1980s, a decade during which they accumulated over 27 country number-one hits, released seven multi-platinum albums, and garnered numerous awards. In 2019, Alabama was inducted into the Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum and was honored with the institution’s first-ever Lifetime Achievement Award.
