on Apr 04, 2024
After securing the titles of Best New Pop Artist and Best New Country Artist at the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards, Jelly Roll and his wife, Bunnie, chose to mark the occasion by revisiting a special spot– a bar they frequented during the beginning of their relationship.
Bunnie shared their sentimental moment on TikTok, posting a video of them dancing and singing along to Bob Seger’s classic hit, “Old Time Rock & Roll.”
“We came to this bar in 2016 when we first got together and had nothing but a dream,” Bunnie wrote. “Tonite we came back to celebrate my baby being iHeartradio’s best POP & COUNTRY artist of the year,” she added.
Jelly Roll’s Big Night At The iHeartRadio Music Awards
At the iHeartRadio Awards, Jelly Roll stood out as one of the most nominated artists of the night. He was a first-time nominee and won two awards after receiving nominations across several categories, including country, pop, and rock. In his acceptance speeches, Jelly Roll shared his appreciation for the support he has received within the industry.
“I remember being in the back seat of the car with my brothers. I had three older brothers and an older sister. All we did was ride around and listen to the radio and we sung every single word. I never would have dreamed I would be one of the voices coming through your radio and to be the best new country artist to represent country music and the best new pop artist,” Jelly Roll said.
“You don’t know what this means to a kid like me. I was thinking about it. What does it mean when a guy like me gets the opportunity to be the new pop artist of the year at iHeartRadio’s awards? It means that God will always use the least likely messenger with the biggest message every single time. You can take it to the bank, baby,” he added.
In addition to his significant wins, Jelly Roll took to the stage alongside country sensation Lainey Wilson to deliver a memorable performance of their hit duet, “Save Me.”
