Justin Moore Explains Recent Changes In Appearance
During a recent visit to TL’s Road House podcast with Tracy Lawrence, Justin Moore shared updates about his life and career, including the difficult decision to temporarily step away from performing to seek treatment for alcohol abuse.
Additionally, he opened up about his recent change in appearance, which had prompted questions from fans. The Arkansas native explained to Tracy Lawrence that he has faced some health concerns, but quickly clarified, “nothing life-threatening, thankfully.”

The musician has seen visible weight gain around his neck, which doctors initially believed had the potential to be cancer. After testing, the mass was determined to be benign, or non-cancerous.
The “Small Town USA” singer was diagnosed with a lipoma, or a “slow-growing, fatty lump that most often is located between the skin and muscle layer but below the skin.” Moore explained his decision not to pursue surgery for the issue and shared:
“They said it would be very, very difficult to do surgery and it may affect my singing and even my speaking voice.”
In good spirits, he added:
“It’s weird, it doesn’t affect me. I just uh I just look like a linebacker, circa 1982, you know, thick neck.”
