According to the song sheet, the track was written back in March of 2023, and co-written by Lainey, along with Aslan Freeman, Dallas Wilson, and Trannie Anderson. The lyrics of the upcoming song are:
I’s born in boots on humble ground. / These kinda roots, yeah they sure don’t grow out / Yeah even in a guitar town. / My crooked drawl the way I sung / My mama’s genes sure stuck out like a sore thumb / in a metro city crowd. / Oh me, oh my how things changed / I can’t believe my eyes these days.
Everybody wanna be a cowboy / Drive a John boat whip a John Deere / Everybody wanna backwoods front porch/ With a tub full of iced down beer / Must be something in water flowing out of the holler / Doggone daggummit / Didn’t see that coming/ Country’s cool again
