Luke Bryan Defends “Fish Hunt Golf Drink” After Fans Claim It Sounds AI-Generated
on Jun 05, 2026

Luke Bryan is clearing up the rumors surrounding his latest single, “Fish Hunt Golf Drink.”
The song has a pretty simple meaning behind it. It’s just Luke listing off all the things he enjoys doing when he has free time from work and responsibilities.
But even with that relatable idea, a lot of fans haven’t connected with the track, and it’s been met with quite a bit of criticism since its release.
A big reason for the backlash is that some listeners who’ve heard the song have started to suspect that Luke used AI to help generate the lyrics.
Fans have questioned the song’s authenticity, claiming that lines like “Wake up, coffee, camo, climb tree” feel overly generic and robotic. Overall, most of the feedback has argued that the track lacks the personal touch that’s expected from a song written by hand.

Luke Bryan Addresses Rumors That “Fish Hunt Golf Drink” Is AI-Generated
It turns out that Luke is fully aware of all the talk surrounding his song. He addressed the criticism on Wednesday when he arrived at Muirfield Village for the Memorial Pro-Am.
“We’ve had some negativity out there. Some trolls kinda saying that I ‘AI’-ed it, which is completely false,” Luke told NBC4.
And despite all of the online discourse, Luke is telling the truth. The song was actually written by award-winning country songwriters Chase McGill and Matt Dragstrem.
According to Luke, the song wasn’t meant to be some groundbreaking moment for country music. Instead, he said the goal was to give fans a fun, easy summer anthem to enjoy.
“That song was designed for one thing. To have fun and to tell the world what I love to do and what I strive to do,” Luke added.
Luke doesn’t seem too bothered by the negative comments. He’s continuing to do what he does best: performing for thousands of fans each night.
He’s currently on his Word on the Street Tour, which started just last week. He has shows scheduled all the way until the end of the year, wrapping up on December 11.
