After months of anticipation, Miranda Lambert‘s new album, Crisco, is finally here.

Crisco is Lambert’s first release with her new record label, MCA. The record was released on Friday, October 2.

Lambert co-produced the project with Jesse Frasure. It features 12 tracks that blend Lambert’s signature country style with some disco flair.

A press release about Crisco describes the album as a “vibrant, free-spirited collection that embraces every side of the artist fans have come to love: the storyteller, the wanderer, the romantic, the troublemaker, the traditionalist and the dreamer.”

Be One Of The First People To Hear “Snakeskin Boots,” Miranda Lambert’s New Song With Ella Langley

As you can see, Chris Stapleton isn’t the only guest artist on Crisco. The album also includes a new duet with Ella Langley, titled “Snakeskin Boots.”

Described in a press release as a song full of “mythic cowgirl energy,” the track reunites Lambert and Langley after they worked together on Langley’s second studio album, Dandelion.

Lambert co-produced Dandelion with Langley and Ben West. Langley and Lambert also joined Joybeth Taylor and Luke Dick to write Langley’s smash hit “Choosin’ Texas” and their prior duet, “Butterfly Season.”

Lambert held off on releasing their latest collaboration, “Snakeskin Boots,” until Crisco dropped on October 2. Like many of the songs on the record, “Snakeskin Boots” is infused with a disco groove that lends it a nostalgic feeling. But it also carries some Western influences, with the song’s introduction sounding like something that would play in a classic cowboy film.

For her part, Lambert said the song embodies the energy of “Thelma and Louise if they didn’t drive off the cliff.” That seems like the perfect way to describe the feisty track, which includes lyrics such as:

“If the good all die young, she gonna slip the hangman’s noose.

Stealin’ diamonds,

In her snakeskin boots.

If you ask her,

How she shook the devil loose,

Boy, I’m faster,

In my snakeskin, snakeskin boots.”
