Over the weekend, country superstar Morgan Wallen sold out two nights at Neyland Stadium in Knoxville. A Tennessee native himself, Wallen’s pride for his hometown shined bright as he donned University of Tennessee colors to perform in front of the record breaking audience.

According to a press release, a total of 156,161 combined fans attended over the two nights, breaking the previous record held by the Jackson 5. Wallen is the fourth artist to ever headline Neyland Stadium, which is the sixth-largest college football stadium in the country.

The “Last Night” singer had a few tricks up his sleeve and surprised his fans with many special guests, including Eric Church, Hardy, Ernest, Darius Rucker, and Miranda Lambert.

During a portion of the Sunday night show (September 22) where Wallen performs a stripped-down set on a smaller stage within the crowd, he surprised attendees with a special duet partner. He announced:

“Me and this next artist, we got together one day and wrote a few songs, and this is the first song we ever wrote. I brought this song into the room, and I needed some help from a lady’s perspective to help me write a song for my mama.”

Fellow superstar Miranda Lambert joined him on stage. Wallen and Lambert performed “Thought You Should Know,” a song which they co-wrote with Nicole Gaylon and released on the 2023 album One Thing At A Time.

“Thought You Should Know” debuted at number one on the Billbord Hot Country Songs chart, and was Wallen’s fourth song to do so.
