Morgan Wallen’s “Dangerous” Ranked As Billboard’s Top Album Of The 21st Century
on Jan 10, 2025
Morgan Wallen’s Dangerous: The Double Album has reached yet another massive milestone.
Dangerous, the second studio album from Morgan Wallen, makes history
Morgan Wallen is a force to be reckoned with in the country music industry. With an ever-growing list of accolades, the Tennessee native shows no signs of slowing down.
His debut album, If I Know Me, was released in April 2018 and was a commercial success. It topped the Billboard Country Albums Chart and was later certified platinum by the RIAA.
That success was met and exceeded with the release of Morgan Wallen’s second record, Dangerous: The Double Album, in January 2021 via Big Loud Records. It debuted at number one on both the Billboard 200 cross-genre chart and the Top Country Albums chart.
Born out of excess free time during the pandemic, the project contains a whopping 30 tracks, with an additional three tracks on the extended edition. It includes the hit singles “Wasted On You,” “7 Summers,” and “Sand In My Boots.”
During its first week, Dangerous racked up 240.18 million on-demand streams, the largest streaming week ever for a country album at that time.
In March 2022, it broke the all-time record for the longest duration (97 weeks) in the number one spot on the Top Country Albums chart.
Dangerous: The Double Album named Album of the Century
As of this week, Morgan Wallen’s Dangerous: The Double Album has ranked #1 on Billboard’s Top 200 Albums of the 21st Century.
Billboard is widely regarded as the world’s premiere music publication and an authority on music industry news, trends, and charts.
This accomplishment is particularly notable as Morgan Wallen is up against some of the biggest artists in music today. Dangerous is followed in the rankings by Adele’s 21, Taylor Swift’s Fearless and 1989, and the Hamilton musical soundtrack.
Wallen’s third studio album, One Thing At A Time, is also included in the number six spot on the chart. Congrats, Morgan!
