Morgan Wallen is getting a second chance to possibly have a sign put up for his Nashville bar.

Nashville City Council Rejected Installation for Morgan Wallen’s Bar Sign Earlier This Year

Morgan Wallen’s bar, This Bar & Tennessee Kitchen, opened on Nashville’s famous Broadway strip in June of this year.

Named after his 2019 hit “This Bar,” the establishment has seen great success since its opening nearly six months ago. However, there’s been one major difference between Wallen’s bar and other country stars’ bars on Broadway.

Before the grand opening, it was revealed that the Nashville City Council voted against allowing a neon sign for the building.

FOX 17 News

According to Fox 17 Nashville, the vote to deny the neon sign was a 30-3 decision. The majority felt that his recent troubles with the law required Wallen to face consequences.

The troubles referenced are related to Wallen’s arrest in April for throwing a chair off the sixth-story rooftop of Cheif’s, Eric Church’s Downtown Nashville bar.

Police reports show that the chair landed just a few feet away from three officers standing on the sidewalk below. After employees informed police that Wallen was the one who threw the chair and surveillance footage was reviewed, Wallen was taken into custody. He was later released the following morning after posting a $15,250 bond.

Wallen has since pleaded guilty to the charges, which include two misdemeanor counts of reckless endangerment.

As a result, Wallen has been ordered to spend seven days in a DUI education center. He will also be on probation for two years.

The Case for ‘This Bar’ Sign Installation Returns to City Council

After all the drama surrounding Wallen and the sign planned for his Downtown bar, the Nashville City Council is now set to reconsider its decision on the sign installation.

As reported by The Tennessean, the Nashville City Council will reconsider a resolution on Tuesday, December 17, during a scheduled metro council meeting. Until then, Wallen’s bar will remain without the planned 20-foot sign on Lower Broadway.
