Ozzy Osbourne Announces End Of Touring Career

Good Morning America / YouTube

Rock and roll icon Ozzy Osbourne has announced the end of his touring days.

Taking to social media, Ozzy shared a statement announcing the cancelation of his upcoming European/UK tour dates. Beyond that, Ozzy announced the end of his touring career overall.

Ozzy has experienced a series of health issues over the years. These issues tie back to an accident at home in 2019 that caused damage to his spine. Ozzy has also been diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease.

After the 2019 accident, Ozzy continued to work in the studio and made occasional appearances to perform live. But he was forced to continuously postpone his farewell tour because he wasn’t feeling up to it.

Ozzy now knows he won’t be able to keep up with such a demanding schedule. As he explained in his statement:

This is probably one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to share with my loyal fans. As you may all know, four years ago, this month, I had a major accident, where I damaged my spine. My one and only purpose during this time has been to get back on stage. My singing voice is fine. However, after three operations, stem cell treatments, endless physical therapy sessions, and most recently groundbreaking Cybernics (HAL) Treatment, my body is still physically weak.”

Ozzy continued:

I am honestly humbled by the way you’ve all patiently held onto your tickets for all this time, but in all good conscience, I have now come to the realization that I’m not physically capable of doing my upcoming European/UK tour dates, as I know I couldn’t deal with the travel required. Believe me when I say that the thought of disappointing my fans really F—S ME UP, more than you will ever know.

Ozzy wrapped up his statement by saying, “Never would I have imagined that my touring days would have ended this way.” He said his team is coming up with ways he can still perform live, but without the need for back-to-back travel.

He took the time to thank his family, band, crew, and his scheduled tour partners Judas Priest for showing him so much support over the years. Ozzy also thanked his fans “for giving [him] the life [he] never ever dreamed [he] would have.”
