Phil Robertson Shows Appreciation For His Wife: “Thanks For Never Giving Up On Me”

Phil Robertson, “The Duck Commander,” thanks his wife, Miss Kay, for not leaving him during his “bad times.” 

Phil Robertson, professional hunter and outdoorsman and his wife Miss Kay are well-known figures. They are celebrated for their roles in the popular reality television series, Duck Dynasty. The show portrays the lives of the Robertson family, who became successful from their family-operated business, Duck Commander. Together, the couple embodies the values of family, faith and tradition, which are central themes of their show and in their lives.

From High School Sweethearts to Life-Long Partners

Robertson and Marsha “Miss Kay” Carroway started dating in 1964 as high school sweethearts and were married just a few short years later in 1966. During the beginning years of their marriage, Phil dealt with a few personal struggles, including substance misuse and fidelity. He credits a subsequent religious awakening for being able to eventually find redemption and overcome his problems. Despite the early troubles in their marriage, the pair have defied all odds and continue to celebrate their love today, over five decades later.

Finding Redemption Through His Faith

Phil is known for his deep and unwavering faith as a devout Christian, which has played a central role in his life and values, often featured prominently in his public statements and appearances. Phil continues to be outspoken about his beliefs, touching on them in his podcast with his son, Unashamed with Phil & Jase Robertson and brand new movie, The Blind, which was released on September 28, 2023 and is currently playing in theaters.

What is The Blind about?

The Blind tells the story of how Phil fell in love with Kay and started their family, his addiction and complicated past threatening to take it all away. The movie shares never-before-revealed moments in Phil’s life as he fought to conquer his addictions and find redemption through his faith.

Though the pair have been through rough times together, their love has proven time and time again how powerful devotion and faith can be.

“When I stuck with him, then everybody was mad at me because they said ‘leave him’ and I said ‘No, my grandmother taught me to stay.’ That was what you were supposed to do. You would just pray and God will fix it eventually.”

On Oct 19, 2023, Phil shared to his Instagram a post about his appreciation for his wife’s actions following his rough times. Kay said that when numerous people told her to leave him, she “stood alone and said no.”

“By the way, thanks for staying.”
