Post Malone Delays Starting Tour To Keep “Promise” To Fans Of Finishing New Album
on May 04, 2026

The Tour With Jelly Roll Was Set To Begin On May 13
Next Wednesday, May 13, Post Malone, Jelly Roll, and Carter Faith were set to kickoff their Big Ass Stadium Tour 2 in El Paso, Texas, but there’s now a change of plans.
Taking to social media in the evening of Friday, May 1, Post Malone wrote in his Instagram story that he was going to be delaying the start of the tour.
Altogether, six shows have been canceled, including:
- El Paso, Texas (on May 13);
- Waco, Texas (on May 19);
- Baton Rouge, Louisiana (on May 23);
- Birmingham, Alabama (on May 26);
- Tampa, Florida (on May 29); and
- Oxford, Mississippi (on June 5).
Regardless, Post Malone is expected to keep his engagements at festivals between now and the new start of his tour — which is slated for June 9 in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Variety notes that this announcement comes as there have been reports that the tour has been failing to sell-out venues.
However, Post Malone made no mention of ticket sales in his social media story announcing the change, instead focusing on his progress with his highly anticipated next album, tentatively titled The Eternal Buzz.

What Post Malone Told Fans About Canceled Shows
Referring to his fans as “party people,” Post Malone write on May 1 that he was going to be delaying the start of the Big Ass Stadium Tour 2, writing, “Looking at the upcoming schedule after stagecoach, I came to the realization that what we were trying to do, and what’s possible, isn’t really lining up.”
Continuing, he wrote, “Truth is, I promised y’all beautiful people new music, and I don’t have the time to finish it before tour starts.”
Further, Post Malone said, “We ain’t ready for tour just yet, so I’m making the decision to push the tour back about 3 weeks to get this music done.”
He went on to write:
“That being said, I’m so sorry to the folks who were planning on coming to the few canceled shows. I was looking forward to going nuts with y’all.”
Post Malone then turned to what fans can expect from his next album, writing, “We been making some badass sh*t for this double album… and I can’t wait to perform for y’all again.”
Back in April, Post Malone shared an image of a whiteboard with the words The Eternal Buzz scrawled across the top. It also then teased a double album structure, with each disc presumably featuring 20 tracks.

One year ago, Post Malone spoke with Billboard just before his performance at the 2025 Coachella, and he shared some of his approach to the forthcoming album and the country music genre as a whole.
“I said in an interview a while ago, ‘When I’m 30 years old, I’m gonna make a country record,’ and I made it at 29, so I wasn’t too far off,” he said of his 2024 album F-1 Trillion. “But you know, it just happened naturally. I was like, ‘F*** it, let’s go to Nashville. Let’s give it a go.’ I think finally bringing the fun back into what I was doing really showed on the record. And I think a lot of folks had fun listening to it. And we’re going to attempt to do it again. I’m excited to keep going.”
Beyond the upcoming album, Post Malone’s statement on the cancelation of six shows from the Big Ass Stadium Tour 2 also included comment on the start of his commrcial success.
2026 marks the 10th anniversary of Post Malone’s 2016 debut album, Stoney, and he concluded his story by acknowledging that he hasn’t forgotten about the album.
