The Final Match Between The United States And Canada Has Begun

Tensions rose on Saturday, February 15, when the two nations’ hockey teams competed in the 4 Nations Hockey Tournament.

Before the game, Canadian fans booed the U.S. national anthem, which fueled the U.S. team’s determination to defend the “Star-Spangled Banner.”

In an unprecedented moment, three players from the U.S. team made hockey history by starting the quickest fights ever recorded on ice within the first nine seconds of the match.

Brothers Matthew and Brady Tkachuk, as well as their teammate J.T. Miller, dropped their gloves and fought three Canadian players back to back.

Donald Trump’s Locker Room Pep Talk

Donald Trump called the U.S. Hockey team hours before their championship game against Canada.

An X post shows the entire moment when Trump spoke with U.S. hockey head coach Mike Sullivan on speakerphone.

Trump said, “Well, I’ll talk to the guys if they’re around.”

Sullivan responded, “Yeah, they are. I’m going to walk into the locker room right now, and you can speak to the guys firsthand.”

In the locker room, Donald Trump, the 47th President of the United States, gave the team a pep talk. He encouraged the players by saying,

“You guys are really talented. I have great respect for hockey players. I’m a hockey fan. I love hockey. The talent, the skill that you have is crazy. And just go out and have a good time tonight, and I just want to wish you a lot of luck. You really are a skilled group of people. It’s an honor to talk to you, and get out there.”

He also made a lighthearted joke about winning the match, adding, “No pressure.” The whole locker room chuckled at the lighthearted joke prior to the high-pressure game.

Coach Sullivan then said, “I can tell you honestly, every person in here, players, staff, management, coaches, we are all proud Americans, and we want to represent our country the best way we can, and do our best to bring in a win tonight. Thank you again on behalf of everybody.”

Donald Trump ended the call by saying, “You just go out and have a good time. You’re going to win, and we love America, and we love you guys. We’ll be watching tonight.”

As of 8:15 CST, the game is tied 1 to 1.
