Randy Travis Shares “New Kind” Of Love Story In Unheard Song From The Vault
on

Thirteen years after his debilitating stroke, Randy Travis is reaching into the archives to share previously unreleased music with fans.
With the help of longtime producer Kyle Lehning, the “Forever And Ever, Amen” singer is preparing his next album, titled Same Old Way, for a November 13th release. The record will have 12 total songs which, according to a press release, “span Randy’s distinguished recording career from 1986 to 2013.”
The original recordings were pulled from the vault, remixed, and reimagined into a brand-new record that fans have never heard. Gradually, the 67-year-old has been sharing songs from the project, beginning with the playful song “Fish On” in July.
Next came the title track in September, followed by three more tracks, giving listeners a taste of what is to come.

Randy Travis Releases “Mission of Love” From Upcoming Album
Earlier this week, the country icon began teasing his next release with a series of throwback photos of a young Randy Travis on the set of a western film or music video. An additional post revealed that the new tune would be a “new kind” love story in his line of successful heartfelt tracks including “Forever And Ever Amen,” “Deeper Than The Holler,” and more.
On Friday, October 30th, “Mission of Love” became available on all platforms. Different from his previous romantic ballads, the new single tells the difficult story of a father seeking out his estranged partner on behalf of their child.
The chorus tells:
“Somebody else needs you tonight.
Our little girl is calling your name.
I’ve held her but she only wants you.
And although I hate what you become, little tears brought me here on mission of love.”
