Randy Travis Returns With Emotional Pre-Stroke Song From Archive

Country legend Randy Travis has just released the second previously unreleased song he recorded before his 2013 stroke.
Randy Travis Is Releasing A Full Album Of Songs From The Vault
Hearing a brand-new Randy Travis song was not something we ever thought could happen after he had a stroke 13 years ago, but thanks to a vault full of songs that the public has never heard, he is readying a full album, his first of new material since 2008’s Around The Bend.
Travis suffered a near-fatal stroke in 2013, which left him with severe brain damage, resulting in expressive aphasia, which impacts his ability to speak and sing, and requires wheelchair use.

Mary teased the album on the Nashville Palace Podcast on July 6th.
At the beginning of July, Randy Travis was visiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, where he announced a “new album of original music” is on the way. There, he gave patients and families a special preview of the new songs.
He was joined by country singer Alexandra Kay, who paid tribute to Travis’ legendary career with performances of some of his biggest hits, including “Forever and Ever, Amen,” “I Told You So,” and “Deeper Than the Holler.”
A few days later, Travis, with the help of his wife Mary, said:
“Sharing the love of music for decades with listeners of all ages has been an honor of mine. I feel extremely blessed. Earlier this week, as we announced my new album and played some of the songs for the children and families at St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Memphis, I was reminded of my reason for doing it.”

Travis released the album’s first single, “Fish On,” on July 10. To celebrate the release, his team hid fishing bobbers attached to signed Polaroid photos throughout Nashville, Tennessee.
Randy Travis Drops Second Previously Unreleased Song
Randy began teasing the second song off this project on July 29th. He used a carousel of images to tease the lyrics, “I don’t know…I can’t lie…I don’t care.”
A day later, he teased the song again, revealing the title would be “I Don’t Care,” and revealed more lyrics:
On Friday, August 7th, the day finally came for the song to be released!
