Reba McEntire just released one of her most emotional music capsules yet.
On Friday, September 25, Reba dropped a brand-new single titled “Could Have Been Raining.” It’s the sixth new release the country music icon has given fans this year as part of her ongoing series celebrating 50 years in country music.
Earlier this year, Reba announced that she will release digital music capsules through her label, MCA. That means fans will get one new song along with a playlist featuring some of her biggest hits that fit the same theme.
For Reba, this approach lets her introduce younger listeners to her classic songs while still sharing new music with longtime fans.

Reba shared the release of “Could Have Been Raining” to her social media, captioning the post: “You know I love a sad song 🌧️ “Could Have Been Raining” is out everywhere now!”
“Could Have Been Raining” is a ballad about lost love. The narrator reflects on past heartbreak and the struggle to move on while still holding onto the memories of what the relationship once was.
