In an interview with Seth Meyers, Reba talked about her sought after tater tot recipe.

The episode of Late Night with Seth Meyers, which aired on October 11, 2023, dove into other current happenings in Reba’s life, including the release of her new album and book, Not That Fancy and the opening of her new restaurant, Reba’s Place.

Grammy Award-winning musician and member of the Country Music Hall of Fame, Reba McEntire is truly an icon in country music. She has sold more than 75 million records worldwide and has placed over 100 singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, 25 of which reached the number one spot.

The Tater Tot Scoop

The iconic country music superstar may be best known for her chart-topping hits and a successful career spanning decades, but she’s also well-loved for her charming and down-to-earth personality. In an amusing and relatable revelation, Reba has openly expressed her fondness for a classic American comfort food: tater tots.

Host of the hit show The Voice, Carson Daly says that Reba LOVES tater tots and explained that in this season, whenever a hopeful contestant makes it on her team, they get Reba’s tots “right then and there, right on the set.”

Sentimental Meaning

While this salty, deep-fried snack is a delicious treat for the lucky artists on Reba’s team, it also holds a sentimental meaning to Reba and her boyfriend, Rex Linn. In an interview with TODAY, Reba disclosed the couple’s adorable nicknames for each other that have stuck since the beginning of their relationship. Last Valentine’s Day, the couple even celebrated with tater tots from Sonic, Reba saying it was a “great Valentine’s dinner.”

“I’m tater tot, he’s sugar tot. We’re the tots.”

This is how you make Reba’s tater tots?

Meyers asked Reba the question we’ve all been waiting for: What is her tater tot recipe? Reba happily obliged and her answer might not be exactly what you’d expect.

“You get in your car and you put it in reverse. Get out of the garage and drive down the road and you find your nearest Sonic. Pull in the entrance, not the exit. And you pull in one of them little slots and you push that red button and you say, ‘Can I have me some tater tots?’ And I hope they don’t say we’re out.”

Reba’s New Restaurant: Reba’s Place

Reba’s Place is located in Atoka, Oklahoma and is a combination of a restaurant, bar, and live music venue, with a “little bitty stage,” dreamt up by none other than the country music superstar herself. Reba talked about how she put together a surprise appearance at the restaurant and funnily enough, while she was singing, the visitors didn’t even notice it was her.

“Nobody said anything. I mean they didn’t even look up from their chicken fried steak. They were serious about it.”
