Stagecoach Country Music Festival Evacuated
Attendees at the Stagecoach Festival in Indio, California were told to evacuate Saturday night (April 25) after strong winds raised safety concerns. An alert shown on the stage screens read: “Emergency Evacuation. The festival has been postponed until further notice. Please move quickly and calmly to the nearest exit.”
Video posted on social media showed concertgoers rushing to find shelter as an announcer encouraged them to evacuate.
Attendees Told To Leave The Premises
The evacuation unfolded during Little Big Town’s Mane Stage performance, marking the group’s first time back at the event since 2016. Riley Green was up next on the lineup.
After a delay of approximately 2 hours, the festival announced it was reopening the gates and allowing people back in. Many concertgoers had already left the location under the impression that it had been canceled for the night.
Fans took to their official Instagram page, some commenting that the ordeal was “completely unacceptable.”
“For this large of an event and seeing wind in the forecast, you should have had a plan. Not had your patrons exit the venue and then an hour later we are “working to open the doors.” All of us expect refunds or performances on Sunday! We are all heartbroken!,” one fan wrote.
Many even requested a refund after the events that unfolded.
“They made us all leave and all the buses were picking up people just to say they are resuming!!! This is so wrong especially for people who traveled,” another said.
Riley Green’s Set Canceled
When Stagecoach revealed that they would be resuming Saturday night’s show, they appeared to have canceled Riley Green’s set. Lainey became the only performer listed on the night’s new timeline.
While Riley didn’t perform his own full set, Lainey welcomed him and Little Big Town to the stage to perform a cover of Merle Haggard’s “I’ll Just Stay Here And Drink.” Lainey also asked Riley to stay behind and sing one of his own songs.
He sang “I Wish Grandpas Never Died” from his 2019 debut album. You can watch that performance in the video below.

Many fans were not happy with Riley’s set being cancelled.
“Oh heck no! Where is Riley?!,” one upset fan wrote. “Cutting @rileyduckman’s set entirely is criminal…,” another said.
