Shark Knocks Boy Off Surfboard
Shaun Moore and his son Chandler were out surfing at New Smyrna Beach in Florida on Saturday when their GoPro camera captured footage of a shark jumping out of the water and knocking Chandler off his board.
They Didn’t Know It Was A Shark Until Later
Chandler is only 9 years old and was only in the water for about 15 minutes when it happened. All Chandler says he remembers is seeing fish jump out the water and then one of them hit him in the leg, which made him jump off his board.
Both of them actually didn’t know it was a shark until they watched the video later. In fact, according to Shaun, he uploaded the video to Instagram while they were on the beach and due to the glare from the sun, he never saw the shark.
Someone Commenting On His Instagram Told Him
After he shared the video people started commenting that a shark knocked the boy off. Curious, Shaun rewatched and slowed down the video and sure enough, a blacktip shark launched out of the water and hit Chandler.
Chandler says he’s not bothered by the incident though; he’s been surfing since he was 4 years old and plans to get into the water soon. According to his dad, he’s actually bragging about it to his friends and family now.
