When Bindi Irwin and Chandler Powell married on March 25, they made sure Bindi’s late father, Steve, was honored throughout the day. The couple stood next to a picture of Steve as they said their vows and also lit a candle in his honor during the ceremony.

After the wedding, Bindi’s mother, Terri, expressed how happy Steve would have been for their daughter on her wedding day.

I know that Steve would be incredibly proud,” Terri wrote.

Now, just five months after saying “I do,” Bindi and Chandler had some exciting news to share…they’re having a baby!

The couple announced their pregnancy on Tuesday (August 11). Bindi said she is still in her first trimester, but she and Chandler couldn’t keep the news to themselves any longer.

We couldn’t wait to share the news as this beautiful little being has become the most important part of our lives,” Bindi wrote.

This is the best day ever! I am over the moon to announce that @BindiIrwin and @chandlerpowell9 are going to have a baby! Words cannot express the love that is filling my heart.”

She also mentioned how sad she was Steve couldn’t be here to celebrate them. “While I wish that Steve was here to share this beautiful moment, I know that he would be so proud,” Terri said.
