“Two Worlds Collide”: Boyz II Men Join Cody Johnson For Surprise “On Bended Knee” Collab At Stagecoach

Cody Johnson surprised Stagecoach attendees by welcoming Boyz II Men on stage to sing one of their biggest hits.
Night One of Stagecoach 2026 was a huge success, thanks to acts like Ella Langley, Bailey Zimmerman, and the night’s headliner, Cody Johnson.
CoJo has played the country music festival twice before, but Friday (April 15) marked his first time headlining the event. Held at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, Stagecoach is a 3-day country music festival billed as the world’s largest and highest-grossing event of its kind.

Artists representing country, bluegrass, folk, and sometimes rock deliver hours of entertainment across several dedicated stages. The Mane Stage, the stage reserved for headliners and what the festival considers “major acts,” is where Cody Johnson played a jam-packed 90-minute set to close out the first night of Stagecoach 2026.
His set list included all of his biggest hits, plenty of reminiscing about how he got to where he is today, and a surprise appearance from one of the biggest R&B groups of the ’90s.
Boyz II Men Crash Stagecoach
During Cody Johnson’s performance, he began singing “On Bended Knee,” a song by R&B supergroup Boyz II Men. The song topped the Billboard Hot 100 Airplay chart for 6 consecutive weeks after its 1994 release.
Festival goers were in for a treat when Boyz II Men joined CoJo on stage to sing their hit single. Fan reaction on social media indicates that the surprise was a highlight of Stagecoach 2026’s opening night.

Are More Cody Johnson Surprises In Store?
According to The Desert Sun, CoJo was also filming a music video during his Stagecoach set.
Cody also made the announcement to the crowd, saying that his performance of “Rabbit Gets the Gun” was being filmed for a music video. He then brought out Jay Buchanan, lead singer of the rock band Rival Sons.
The song was released exclusively on Amazon Music ahead of CoJo’s Stagecoach appearance. He told media outlets at the time of the song’s release, “Rival Sons has always been my favorite rock band. I loved the chance to write with Jay…He has so much soul and grit, and an unmistakable voice.”
It’s unknown when the music video for the collab will be released.
