George Strait Hits The Road For A Limited Run Of Shows
While country music legend George Strait has been retired from full-scale tours for several years, he continues to perform occasional special shows in some of the nation’s largest stadiums.
Last fall, he announced a two-night stint at Jones AT&T Stadium in Lubbock, Texas. Zach Top and Dylan Gossett opened the show on Friday night (April 24), and Miranda Lambert and Hudson Westbrook were supporting acts on Saturday (April 25).
Later this spring, the Country Music Hall of Fame Member will perform at Death Valley in Clemson, South Carolina, and Moody Center in Austin, Texas.

Miranda Lambert Joins George Strait For A Surprise Duet
On Saturday night, the Texas crowd was treated to a special duet when Miranda Lambert joined George Strait on stage for “She’ll Leave You With A Smile.”
Strait released “She’ll Leave You With A Smile” in September 2002 as the third and last single from his album The Road Less Traveled. It became his largest crossover single to date, peaking at number 23 on the Billboard Hot 100 cross-genre chart.

Lambert recently performed “Run” in tribute to Strait during the Kennedy Center Honors. She told the Texas crowd that on that occasion, the country icon gave her permission to sing whatever she wanted for the upcoming tour.
Her song choice drew cheers from the crowd, and the two Texas natives delivered a once-in-a-lifetime performance that fans will surely never forget.
