11.4 Million Viewers Tuned In To Watch The “Yellowstone” Finale
on Dec 18, 2024
The Dramatic And Emotional Yellowstone Finale Aired On Sunday, December 15
Paramount just announced how many viewers tuned in to watch the Yellowstone finale. As you’d expect, the number is staggering.
Paramount Network revealed in 2023 that Yellowstone would end at the conclusion of its fifth season. The season aired in two halves, with the first ending in January 2023.
After the departure of series lead Kevin Costner and the 2023 actors and writers strikes, the second half of Season 5 kicked off on November 10, 2024.
Following the deaths of several beloved characters, including Costner’s John Dutton, Yellowstone’s finale on December 15 brought the show to an emotional conclusion.
While Yellowstone itself has ended, the story will continue in other series. Kelly Reilly, who plays Beth, confirmed that her character’s story will continue in a spin-off show. This confirmation comes after months of rumors that such a series was in the works.
Another spin-off show, called The Madison, with Michelle Pfeiffer starring, is also in the works.
How Many Viewers Tuned In To The Yellowstone Finale?
The spin-off shows will likely attract Yellowstone‘s large and passionate fan base. Earlier this year, over 16 million people tuned in to watch the mid-season premiere.
Now, the viewership numbers from the finale have been revealed.
According to VideoAmp data released by Paramount, over 11.4 million viewers tuned in to watch the show’s dramatic finale.
Paramount is not currently using Nielsen data, which is standard for many TV series. However, Variety was able to view Nielsen data for the Yellowstone finale. The data showed that approximately 7.367 million people watched the show on Paramount Network, with an additional 713,000 viewers coming from the broadcast on CMT.
Variety reports that just the viewership on Paramount Network alone made Yellowstone “far and away the most-watched scripted show of the night.”
