Jelly Roll Turns 40 – His Life Story
Bunnie Xo wanted everyone to know how much she loves her “delightful man,” Jelly Roll, on his 40th birthday this year.
The artist we now know as Jelly Roll was born Jason Bradley DeFord on December 4, 1984, in Nashville’s Antioch neighborhood.
Young Jelly Roll stumbled down the wrong path. He was incarcerated multiple times throughout his teen and early adult years. He also struggled with addiction.
While in prison, Jelly Roll learned about the birth of his first child, his now 16-year-old daughter Bailee Ann. He later welcomed a son named Noah.
Jelly Roll met his now-wife, Bunnie, in 2015. She helped support him financially so he could raise Bailee, who he and Bunnie now have full custody of.
Jelly Roll spontaneously proposed to Bunnie during one of his concerts in Las Vegas in 2016. They ended up getting married that same night.
Bunnie has been by Jelly Roll’s side as his popularity has grown. She’s supported him at awards shows, concerts, and other engagements.
Their love for one another is evident, as they often gush about each other on social media. Jelly Roll recently thanked Bunnie and his daughter Bailee in an emotional post he shared after the CMA Awards in November.
“You both stood by me when I wasn’t worth standing by I’m glad we are enjoying this rocket ride together,” he said.

Bunnie wanted to shout her love for Jelly Roll on his 40th birthday this year. Writing on Instagram, she said:
“Screaming Happy Birthday to the biggest pimp-stud-Mac-daddyyyy! The big 40 papabear…Now you can really be my silver fox & considered a real OG.“
Bunnie continued to say how she “couldn’t imagine” a world without him. She celebrated his empathy, drive, “infectious smile,” and his desire to be a better person than he was in the past.
Bunnie ended her note by writing, “Happiest birfffffday you delightful man.”
