Carly Peace Chosen To Sing National Anthem At Kentucky Derby
Grand Ole Opry member Carly Pearce was chosen to perform the National Anthem at this year’s Kentucky Derby. The opportunity meant a lot to Pearce, who is from Kentucky.
When Pearce shared the news, she said:
“Being from Kentucky, this is a major bucket list moment for me!” Pearce said. “I’m so excited to announce I will be performing the National Anthem at the 149th @kentuckyderby. Tune in to NBC on May 6 to catch my performance ahead of the Run for the Roses®”

Pearce delivered a stunning rendition of the National Anthem on the day of the race. Some people said they thought her performance was perfect.
She was dressed to the nines in a light blue dress with a floral skirt and matching blue hat.
Carly Shares Lots Of Photos From Her Derby Day
Pearce later shared some photos on social media from her day at the Kentucky Derby. She even included a photo of her rehearsing for her performance.
“My Kentucky heart is the most full. Thanks for having me today @kentuckyderby,” Pearce captioned the snapshots. Many of her famous friends left her loving and supportive comments:
“Killer dress,” said Charles Kelley of Lady A.
Lindsay Ell wrote, “This makes me so happy.”
Lady A’s Hillary Scott said, “GORGEOUS!!!!!”
“You’re adorable!” wrote Brett Young‘s wife, Taylor.
