Carrie Underwood and Papa Roach Release Powerful Collaboration to Support Mental Health Awareness

Carrie Underwood and the rock band Papa Roach have teamed up for a meaningful duet that aims to raise awareness and support for those struggling with mental health issues.
On Friday, August 2, Underwood and Papa Roach released a rendition of the band’s hit song “Leave a Light On (Talk Away the Dark).”
In the video posted to social media, the band’s frontman, Jacoby Shaddix, and Underwood are seen performing the song together, belting out the lyrics into a shared mic.
“We were humbled that Carrie was open to our mission, and hearing the power of Carrie’s voice in that recording session, we were blown away,” Shaddix said in a statement. “Not only is her vocal ability unequaled, but the impact of her voice brings a new meaning to our cause and will help people all over the globe. It’s an honor to have a ‘Rock Star’ bring life to this track with us.”

When the song was first released in 2022, it appeared on Papa Roach’s album Ego Trip and quickly became an anthem for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP). This time around, Underwood and the band are committed to ensuring the song continues to support the organization indefinitely, with royalties from this collaboration going to the foundation in perpetuity.
Additionally, the stars have partnered with the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline in the United States and Canada to use the track as a tool for raising public awareness about their services.
