While doing press for Season One of hit show, Hauser sat down with Screen Rant, who asked him an important question.

“It’s Dutton Ranch, and not Wheeler Ranch,” the interviewer says. “Why is that?”

Hauser chuckles but then responds quickly, “Well, in honor of John Dutton. There’s not a scene that we were able to [shoot] this year, there’s so much going on with the moving to Texas and the pace of the show. So we saved it for maybe another time, but it’s in honor of John Dutton and the love that they both have for him. “

He continued, “Without John Dutton, where would Rip Wheeler be? He’s probably be in jail. [John] gave [Rip] a great opportunity and be a part of an amazing ranch and learn from him, his knowledge, his wisdom, his way of life.”

Plus…do you really think Beth would let Rip name their ranch after himself?! No chance.
