The numbers are in…and they prove that the premiere of Dutton Ranch was a smash success.

Dutton Ranch is a Yellowstone spin-off that follows Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler as they leave Montana to build new lives as ranchers in Texas. As expected, they encounter their fair share of struggles and people plotting their downfall.

The series premiered on May 15. Its first two episodes were released on Paramount+ that day, followed by Episode 3 on May 22.

Now, the viewership data is back from the premiere. Variety, citing data from Paramount, reports that the first two episodes of the series attracted 12.9 million viewers within 7 days of their release.

In doing so, the show shattered the record for the largest series premiere ever on Paramount+.

The previous record holder was Mobland. Its series premiere drew in 8.8 million viewers in 2025. Dutton Ranch galloped past that number and kept going.

Variety notes how this achievement is the latest in a string of successes for executive producer Taylor Sheridan. Two other Sheridan series, The Madison and Landman, also attracted large audiences on Paramount+ within the past year.

The Madison, which debuted in March, drew in 8 million viewers for its premiere. Previously, the Season 2 premiere of the Billy Bob Thornton-led Landman entertained 9 million viewers in November 2025.

Cole Hauser Celebrates The Record-Breaking Success Of Dutton Ranch

Cole Hauser, who plays Rip Wheeler, shared a post on social media highlighting Dutton Ranch‘s unbelievable success.

He shared a graphic of himself and his co-star, Kelly Reilly (Beth Dutton), with text over it that read “The Biggest Debut In Paramount+ History.

Writing in the caption, Hauser said, “Thank you to all the fans that have been around from the ground up… and to all you new fans for making this the most successful show on @paramountplus ever! Let’s keep @duttonranch rollin!!

In addition to Hauser and Reilly, the series features another Yellowstone alum, Finn Little (Carter). But the rest of the cast comprises mostly new characters, played by Annette Bening, Ed Harris, Jai Courtney, Natalie Alyn Lind, and Juan Pablo Raba, among others.

Reilly has discussed how she’d love to see a future crossover with another Yellowstone spin-off, Marshals, which follows Beth’s brother, Kayce Dutton. She also wants Jen Landon to reprise her role as Teeter, once remarking, “She’s Texan, right? So I think she should pop up.

We’ll just have to wait and see if that happens! In the meantime, check out the full schedule of remaining Dutton Ranch episodes below and catch the series’ trailer directly after that.
