Beth Dutton & Rip Wheeler Return In New Yellowstone Spin-Off, Dutton Ranch

After lots of buildup, the new Yellowstone spin-off series, Dutton Ranch, premiered on Friday, May 15th. The show follows Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly) and Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser) as they rebuild their lives and start fresh in Texas.

The official logline reads:

“As Beth and Rip fight to build a future together – far from the ghosts of Yellowstone – they collide with brutal new realities and a ruthless rival ranch that will stop at nothing to protect its empire. In South Texas, blood runs deeper, forgiveness is fleeting, and the cost of survival might just be your soul.

We won’t spoil the events of the two-episode premiere right now. But if you’d like a full recap of events, including the reason why Beth and Rip had to leave Montana, head here for a thorough recap.

In addition to Reilly and Hauser, Finn Little reprises his role as Carter in Dutton Ranch. Other than that, the series features a cast of mostly new characters.

Annette Bening, Ed Harris, Jai Courtney, Natalie Alyn Lind, and Juan Pablo Raba are some of the stars who’ve joined Dutton Ranch to play new figures in Beth and Rip’s world.

Of course, the door is always open for former Yellowstone stars to join Dutton Ranch. In fact, there’s been talk of a potential crossover between the series and another spin-off, Marshals.

Marshals, which focuses on Beth’s brother, Kayce Dutton, premiered on CBS earlier this year (2026). Luke Grimes reprises his role as Kayce, and the series also features Yellowstone stars Gil Birmingham, Mo Brings Plenty, and Brecken Merrill.

“If the stars aligned, that would be pretty cool to have Beth and Rip in our world,” Marshals showrunner Spencer Hudnut told The Hollywood Reporter in March. “Luke [Grimes] and I have talked about it in the past. I think it’s really just having these two productions and trying to figure that out that would be the challenge.

Which Yellowstone Character Would Kelly Reilly Like To See On A Future Episode Of Dutton Ranch?

Kelly Reilly, who plays Beth Dutton, fully supports the idea of a Marshals and Dutton Ranch crossover.

That would be fun. Everyone’s asked if we would meet, and I think that’s a great idea,” Reilly told Entertainment Tonight at the Dutton Ranch premiere.

But there’s another Yellowstone character Reilly seems extra enthused to have on Dutton Ranch…and fans will likely agree with her choice.

“I mean, I’d always say hello to Jen Landon any day of the week,” she remarked.

Jen Landon played the feisty, foul-mouthed, and pink-haired ranch hand Teeter on Yellowstone. She made her debut in Season 3 and remained on the show through its fifth and final season.

Teeter was a fan-favorite character, so viewers would surely love to see her return for Dutton Ranch.

Reilly seemed to be teasing the likelihood of such a thing, telling Entertainment Tonight, “…and she’s Texan, right? So I think she should pop up.”

It’s true, Teeter is Texan, and she moved back to the state at the end of Yellowstone. Since Beth and Rip are also in Texas now, it’s not out of the realm of possibility that they’d run into Teeter again one day.

We’ll be keeping our fingers crossed for a future Teeter cameo on Dutton Ranch! In the meantime, join us in revisiting some of her best Yellowstone moments in the video below.
