Cole Hauser Says “Everything Has To Move On” While Reflecting On Yellowstone‘s Ending

A clip Yellowstone shared on its official social media pages shows one of its stars, Cole Hauser, reflecting on the end of the series.

Hauser played John Dutton’s right-hand man, Rip Wheeler, across Yellowstone‘s five seasons. Rip became a fan-favorite character because of his unwavering loyalty, rugged good looks, and his love for his wife, Beth Dutton.

Are Yellowstone's Beth and Rip getting a spin-off?

After playing Rip since 2018, Hauser is certainly going to miss Yellowstone after its ending. As he said in the behind-the-scenes video:

“It’s been such an honor to play this character, and this year is a lot about picking up the pieces. There’s a real sadness to having to just wrap everything up, but everything has to move on, and that seven years that we spent there has a special place in a lot of people’s hearts.”

But if Yellowstone fans have one of their greatest dreams come true, Hauser may not have to say “goodbye” to Rip Wheeler for good.

Will There Be A Yellowstone Spin-Off?

With Yellowstone ending, fans are curious to know if the Duttons’ story will continue in a spin-off series. The answer is—yes—and more than one series is coming!

For starters, the prequel series 1923 will start its second season on February 23. There’s also been talk of a new, additional prequel series, tentatively titled 1944. Adding to that, there’s long been talk about a spin-off focused on the 6666 ranch, but not much is known about the potential series.

The Madison is one Yellowstone spin-off that has been officially greenlit. The series will follow a character named Stacy (played by Michelle Pfeiffer), who moves to Montana from New York after her husband is killed in a plane crash.

Other actors who will star alongside Pfeiffer include Matthew Fox, Kevin Zegers, Rebecca Spence, Alaina Pollack, Danielle Vasinova, Patrick J. Adams, Amiah Miller, Elle Chapman, Ben Schnetzer, and Beau Garrett.

Fans have also wondered if Hauser’s Rip Wheeler and Kelly Reilly‘s Beth Dutton will get their own spin-off series. Several reports have claimed that they will. Reilly herself also seemed to confirm in some Instagram comments that she isn’t quite done telling Beth’s story.

Head here for a full rundown of all the series Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan has created or plans to make in the future. Hopefully, a Beth and Rip spin-off will be on the agenda!
